VIETNAM – A new Airbus A321NEO from VietJet Airlines lost both nosegear wheels due to a hard landing at Buon Ma Thuot airport. All passengers and crew evacuated via the emergency exits and slides.

The Airbus A321neo, registered VN-A653, only entered VietJet Air’s fleet 15 days ago (15 November 2018). The Vietnamese aviation authority launched an accident investigation. The A321 was operating a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Buon Ma Thuot when the incident happened.

The airline responded to the incident earlier by saying that all the 207 passengers are safe.  A few passengers had to go to the hospital for general checks but have been discharged.

“The carrier has been in close coordination with related authorities to assess the incident and promptly support all affected passengers,” it says.
