AUCKLAND – The unions for engineers and maintenace personnel announced another strike after failed negotiations with Air New Zealand. The strike will take place three days before Christmas.
After the negotiations, Air New Zealand said that the the unions will strike one full day. However, the union already announced that the strike will last three days in the busy Christmas period.
According to Flight data analysis, the strike will affect 690 flights. The strike will result in unavoidable delays and other huge impacts on the airline’s operation.
“We are working on contingency plans to continue the flights. In the worst-case scenario, some disruption would unfortunately be inevitable though,” the spokesman of Air New Zealand said.
